My paper dart experiment
Hi scientists, this week we did another cool experiment for you guys to try too. This week our experiment is about paper airplanes/darts. Before we jump in and do the experiment all scientists need to have a hypothesis. In your hypothesis put which size you think will fly the farthest, the small or large one.
Before i show my hypothesis I need to include one more thing. Equality and Equity. What are the differences between these two? Equality we give the same amount to each person. We need Equality in science so our results are 100% accurate which is important for good scientists. Equity at the other side is giving an advantage to others because they need it.
Ok finally here is my hypothesis.
My hypothesis- I think the smaller one will fly farther.
Now these are the materials i used.
Materials – A4 paper and A5 paper
Method – Here is the video i used to make my paper dart. Its really hard to say the instructions on text so here is the video for the method i used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=qXqCOg_1tQ8 and make sure you stay in the exact position where you throw the two darts so your results will be accurate.
Attempt Smaller dart Bigger dart
1 farther
2 farther
3 farther
Results – For my experiment the bigger dart flew farther, why?, because I learned that planes with bigger wings fly farther because they can generate more lift.
That is all for this blog see you again next week scientists. And don’t forget to have fun with SCIENCE!
