Dance – end of term revision

Kamusta dancers, because the end of this term is near our class is making a blog post or a Google document on what we learned in dance this term. We had four different topics this term dancing landscapes, dancing in musicals, poetry in motion and dance around the world.

Dancing landscapes example on what it is – Pretend there’s a picture of a mountain. How can you  pretend to be the mountain or birds or trees. For the trees you could sway your arms around. For the birds you can run around and pretend to be a bird.

Dancing in musicals – Do you know the new Matilda movie? If you do that’s an example of a musical. And here is a video of a musical called be our guest from beauty and beast. https://youtu.be/WKf5mgOi2Po

Poetry in motion – Have you ever done a poet? You can make a dance out of the poet that you’re doing. Pretend you made a poet about shopping, you can dance like your picking up some stuff.

Dances around the world – Different countries have different cultures and types of dances here is a slideshow about dances around the world.

  • In Te Reo Maori this term I have learnt how to introduce myself in Maori.
  • Something I found challenging was learning how to say how many for objects and people because we didn’t get to learn about it that much.
  • Something I found rewarding was using pixton because it was fun.
  • Next term I want to learn how to say kinds of food in Maori because I love food.

  • I can introduce myself in Te Reo Māori. (5)
  • I can ask how someone is feeling in Te Reo Māori.(4)
  • I can ask and answer ‘how many’ questions in Te Reo Māori.(3)
  • I can pronounce Māori words correctly.(4)

That is all for this blog everyone Ka kite.

Introductions in Maori

Kia ora, In Maori we have been learning to introduce ourselves in Maori. We have learnt three sentences to use.

How are you? –  Kei te pehea koe?

What is your name? – Ko wai tou ingoa?

Where are you from – No hea koe?

  • What am i learning?

Pronouncing Te Reo Sounds.

Introducing ourselves in maori.

How does this work show my learning?

This shows my learning because I remembered and used the questions for what is your name, where are you from and how are you. I found this work easy because I listened and I can review the work when I have too.

What am I wondering?

I wonder when I can memorise all of the maori words

Why is there a dance in musicals

Hi bloggers, this week we started to learn about musicals. In musicals we need air movements and floor movements.

Why is there a dance in musicals? To express the characters thoughts and feelings, helps to explain the story and to make a transition in time or place as a metaphor.

An example of a musical is be our guest from beauty and the beast.

That’s all for this blog bloggers.. Bye
